Today, a picture of Queen Elizabeth’s last resting place was made public by Buckingham Palace. The King George VI Memorial Chapel now has her ledger stone in place.
Her name, her parents’ names, and the name of her husband, Prince Philip, were all listed on the ledger stone. The material is marble from Belgium, which is black. The top two lines of the brass letters are “George VI 1895-1952 / Elizabeth 1900-2002,” and the bottom two are “Elizabeth II 1926-2022 / Philip 1921-2021,” separated by a garter star.

Within the boundaries of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor is King George VI, Memorial Chapel. As the last resting place for her father, George VI, Queen Elizabeth ordered the construction of the King George VI Memorial Chapel in 1962.

At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8. Queen Elizabeth surpassed her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria in 2015 to become the British queen with the longest reign. She ruled for seventy years. According to centuries-old custom, her 73-year-old oldest son, Charles, has ascended to the throne.
