Five people were given seven years of solitary confinement by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, concerning the Vyapam scandal.
Kamal Kishore, Amar Singh, Nagendra Singh, Suresh Singh, and Ravi Kumar Rajput were found guilty on Thursday by Special Court Judge Nitiraj Singh Sisodia for their roles in the 2013 police recruitment exam that was rigged by the Madhya Pradesh Vyavsayik Pareeksha Mandal, often known as “Vyapam.”

Public prosecutor Manuji Upadhyay said in a statement that 32 witnesses and 220 papers and things were examined and that the court also imposed a punishment of 10,000 on each of them.

According to the prosecution, on April 7, 2013, Kamal, Amar, Nagendra, and Suresh paid others to take the MP police constable recruitment exam in their place. According to Manuji Upadhyay, Ravi Rajput wrote the test for Nagendra’s application.

According to CBI special prosecutor Satish Dinkar, they were found guilty under the Indian Penal Code sections 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating), 467 (transfer of valuable security), 468 (forged papers), and 471 (use of forged documents as accurate).

The Vyapam scandal made news in 2013 when it was discovered that numerous tests it had administered had been manipulated for cash.

The investigation was turned over to the CBI by the Supreme Court in 2015.

Initially known as the MP Professional Examination Board, the name of Vyapam was changed to MP Karmachari Chayan Aayog in February of this year (Staff Selection Board).Madhya Pradesh Cop Recruitment Scam: 5 People Given 7 Years in Prison
