On Friday, four friends were killed in a car accident after their BMW crashed on the Purvanchal Expressway while travelling more than 200 kph. One of the passengers was seen encouraging the driver to accelerate further in a Facebook Live video posted by another passenger.
Dr. Anand Prakash, a 35-year-old professor at a private medical school in Rohtas, Bihar, was driving the BMW at 230 kph when the horrifying incident was caught on camera. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) officials reported that the police and other authorities quickly arrived to the scene.
The District Magistrate, Ravish Kumar, and the Superintendent of Police, P Somen Burma, arrived at the scene and requested that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) take the necessary steps.
Anand Prakash, a 35-year-old native of Dehri, Bihar, Akhilesh Singh, and Deepak Kumar have been named as the deceased, according to the DM (37). There are currently efforts on to identify the fourth victim who has been killed.
