Rishi Sunak, the country’s new leader, and his family will reside in a flat above No. 10 Downing Street. When he served as chancellor to former UK PM Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak lived in the apartment with his wife and two daughters.
The four-bedroom No. 10 apartment has served as the prime minister of the United Kingdom’s official residence. Boris Johnson was one of his predecessors who resided there. Additionally, Boris Johnson ran afoul of the law when his wife Carrie oversaw a costly renovation of his official residence.
“We have already decorated it and it’s lovely,” Rishi Sunak said.
The previous prime minister’s reputation suffered greatly when he was in power due to information about pricey wallpaper rolls, incredibly trendy soft furnishings, and wealthy donors.
Although Rishi Sunak will officially reside in the apartment above No. 10, which has been designated for the chancellor, many PMs have chosen to live there because it is a larger flat.
