Elon Musk Warns Twitter Advertisers, "Thermonuclear Name, Shame If…"

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, promised to publicly humiliate any Twitter sponsors who pull their ads after the microblogging service announced significant layoffs.
Elon Musk stated in a Twitter reply to a user, “I’m grateful. This will end in a thermonuclear name and shame if it goes on.”

Twitter user Mike Davis stated: “Hello, @elonmusk! Nearly 114,000,000 people follow you on Twitter. Identify and call out the advertisers who are giving in to the boycotts. To counter-boycott them, of course. And begin now with your USD 8 monthly membership. Therefore, we may immediately begin to make up for lost earnings.”

The Tesla CEO has accused “activist organizations lobbying advertisers” of a “huge loss in income” as the business undertakes significant layoffs series tweets.

“Activist organizations’ pressure on advertisers caused a significant decline in Twitter’s earnings, even though content filtering has remained the same and we have done everything we could to appease the activists. They were botched up! He added in a subsequent tweet that they’re attempting to stifle free expression in America.

Elon Musk defended his choice to avoid mass layoffs by claiming that Twitter was losing more than USD 4 million every day, which affected the workers who received severance pay.
Elon Musk stated on Twitter, “Unfortunately, given that the firm is losing more than $4 million per day, there is no other option for Twitter than to reduce its workforce. Everyone who was let go received a three month severance package, which is 50% more than what was legally necessary.”

The Verge obtained a copy of an unsigned internal document that Twitter workers received on Friday informing them of the impending layoffs. It’s anticipated that Musk will lay off around half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees.

The businessman bought Twitter last week for USD 44 billion, and on the same day, he sacked some of the organization’s senior executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal.

At a town hall meeting last summer, Musk told staff that there needed to be “a rationalization of headcount” at the social network, indicating that he might eliminate positions there.
