Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed the incident of mimicry of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar by MPs as unfortunate. The Vice President posted on social media ‘X’ and said that a telephone call had come from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed deep sorrow over the disgusting antics of some MPs in the Parliament complex yesterday.
The Vice President said, “PM Modi told me that he has been enduring such insults for the last twenty years, but the fact that with a constitutional post like the Vice President of India and that too in Parliament, this can happen is unfortunate I told him – Prime Minister, the actions of a few people will not stop me. I am doing my duty and upholding the principles enshrined in our Constitution. I am committed to those values from the bottom of my heart. Any insult “Can’t change my path.”
141 MPs suspended from Parliament so far
So far 141 MPs have been suspended following the uproar over Parliament security lapses. These suspended MPs include 95 from Lok Sabha and 46 from Rajya Sabha. Following the suspension of all the MPs, the Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a circular outlining the sanctions for the suspended members. The circular has banned their entry into the Parliament chamber, lobby and galleries. During the suspension period, he is barred from attending committee meetings, presenting notices and voting in committee elections.
The opposition is adamant on demanding Union Minister Amit Shah’s statement on the incident of Parliament security lapse. During the Lok Sabha session, the opposition repeatedly talked about the statement of the Union Minister and created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha. So far, a total of 141 MPs, including 95 from Lok Sabha and 46 from Rajya Sabha, have been suspended. After the suspension of the MPs, the Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a circular for the suspended MPs.
