On Wednesday, India completed 10 years of the Make in India mission. Launched on 24 September 2014, this scheme aimed at making India atma nirbhar(self-reliant). Since then various other schemes to support and promote manufacturing, export, import and other business activities have been launched.
While addressing the nation on Wednesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized how this has boosted exports, pushed investments and promoted manufacturing and usher in ease of doing business.
This mission aims to make India a global hub for design and manufacturing. The objective of this mission is twofold, firstly to increase India’s manufacturing capability and secondly to show it off on the Global stage. For this, several pillars have been created to assist Indian manufacturers and businessmen at every stage of trade.
Production Linked Incentive Schemes(PLI)
This scheme has divided the Indian market into 14 sectors and aims at inducing primary investment, operational viability and incorporating advanced technologies. These sectors cover the primary, secondary and tertiary modes of production.
Pradhan Mantri GatiShakti Yojna
It is a strategic initiative aimed at achieving Aatmanirbhar Bharat and a US $5 trillion economy by 2025 through the creation of multimodal and last-mile connectivity infrastructure. PM GatiShakti is a transformative approach for economic growth and sustainable development.
Semicon India Programme
The Semicon India Programme aims to provide a significant impetus to semiconductor and display manufacturing by facilitating capital support and promoting technological collaborations. It aims to foster the development of a sustainable semiconductor and display ecosystem in the country.
National Logistics Policy
It was established to assist the master plan of PM GatiShakti Yojna and it rolled out the Comprehensive Logistics Action Plan. It engages with standardization, state engagement and logistical parks. This connectivity also includes the National Industrial Corridor development program, which aims at connecting cities for the overall growth of the nation.
PM Narendra Modi reiterated the government’s vision of making the Make in India Campaign successful in all ways. He appreciated the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians who worked day and night to make this vision a reality. In his post on X, Narendra Modi He emphasized on the fact that this movement has led to an increase in exports in various sectors and has given the economy a boost.
