On the first episode of his SiriusXM radio show Table for One, Drake paid respect to deceased Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala.Drake, who recently began his own radio show, paid a poignant homage to Sidhu Moose Wala on the air, performing some of the dead Punjabi singer’s songs.
On May 29, Sidhu was shot and killed in Punjab’s Mansa district, prompting Drake to express his sadness on social media.
Drake shared a photo of Sidhu Moose Wala with his mother on his Instagram Stories and captioned it, “Sidhu Moose Wala with his mother.”
Last month, Sidhu Moose Wala was killed in a drive-by shooting in Punjab’s Mansa district’s Jawaharke village. The incident occurred a day after the Punjab police withdrew his security, along with that of 424 others.
Drake performed Moosewala’s popular singles “295” and “G-Sh*t” on the show, according to HipHopNMore. “295” debuted at number three on YouTube’s Global Music Video chart and was just added to the Billboard Global 200 chart.
The singer joined the Congress party in December of 2021. The Congress conveyed its condolences on the death of Moosewala and underlined that it stands together in this moment of grief.
