Michael Vaughan's prediction for the Edgbaston Test, "If He Can Get To..." Virat Kohli's sake

The most recent century by Virat Kohli came in November of 2019 on Twitter.

It would be intriguing to observe whether India can win the Pataudi Trophy or not when the fifth Test between India and England begins on Friday at Edgbaston, Birmingham. After Rohit Sharma was unable to recuperate in time after testing positive for COVID-19, Jasprit Bumrah would take over as India’s captain. Virat Kohli, who hasn’t scored a century in international cricket since November 2019, would also be the center of attention.

Michael Vaughan, a former England captain, thinks that if Kohli can reach 30 against England, he may get a hundred runs. The former captain was also identified by Vaughan as the Indian player to watch out for during the Test match.

Virat Kohli is the Indian player to watch at Edgbaston this week. Just think back a few years to when he scored one of the most memorable hundreds on this field in a Test match. He’s probably overdue. Consider how long it’s been since he received three figures. “Posted on Cricbuzz was Vaughan.

“Virat Kohli has been waiting for those three figures for a very long time. If he can reach 30, I believe he will eventually receive them. Therefore, Virat Kohli is the Indian player to watch out for,” he continued.

Regarding the crucial conflict to watch out for, Vaughan said: “In the decisive match at Edgbaston, Jasprit Bumrah, a player of the highest caliber, will face off against Jonny Bairstow, a batsman from another planet. Bairstow will attack and try to score as soon as possible. The important matchup might be between Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah and Jonny B since the strike rate against New Zealand was well above 100, and I believe he will want to play against India exactly in the same way.”

When making his game prediction, Vaughan said: “After three victories against New Zealand, I only see an England juggernaut continuing at Edgbaston, England. India has seen considerable unrest due to selection, injuries, and COVID concerns. I only see an England victory. At Edgbaston, I believe the Baz and Ben combo will continue to lead England. I only envision an England win, maybe a battering.”

India presently holds a 2-1 advantage in the five-match series after winning at Lord’s and The Oval in 2017.
