Vinod Kambli facing a financial crunch

In order to supplement his pension from the Board of Control for Cricket in India, former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli stated that he is searching for work in the cricket industry.

The post-Covid world has hit the 50-year-old Kambli because he only depends on INR 30,000 from the BCCI and his last team was coached during the 2019 T20 Mumbai League. At the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in Nerul, Kambli once coached aspiring cricketers. The former cricketer, though, feels that Nerul is too far away.

Vinod Kambli is prepared to give up his extravagant way of life in order to work for the Mumbai Cricket Association. The left-hander, who allegedly once scored a hundred after consuming 10 pegs of hard liquor the night before, is now even prepared to give up drinking if he is offered a coaching position.

The fashionable left-hander, who initially made headlines by tying a record with Sachin Tendulkar in school cricket, said he is willing to support Mumbai cricket in any way that he can.”I came into the CIC [Cricket Improvement Committee], but it was an honorary job. I went to the MCA for some help. I have a family to look after. I told the MCA many times that if you require me, I am there whether it is at the Wankhede Stadium or at BKC. Mumbai cricket has given me a lot. I owe my life to this game,” he added.

If Indian batting superstar and childhood buddy Sachin Tendulkar is aware of this financial condition, Kambli responded:”He (Sachin) knows everything, but I am not expecting anything from him. He gave me the TMGA (Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy) assignment. I was very happy. He has been a very good friend. He has always been there for me.”
