In the upcoming months, 5G networks will be available in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made significant announcements on India’s 6G services before to the major launch. According to PM Modi, the country is getting ready to roll out 6G services by the end of this decade. During the Smart India Hackathon 2022, the announcement was made. Ashiwini Vaishnaw, India’s telecom minister, declared earlier today that the country will roll out 5G services by October 12.
Earlier, Vaishnaw declared that in the next two to three years, 5G services will be made available practically everywhere in India. “We intend to quickly put out 5G services. In that regard, installations are being completed and work is being done by the telecom operators. By October 12, hopefully, we’ll be introducing 5G services, which we’ll then expand up in cities and towns. We’ll make sure it stays affordable. Both urban and rural areas are being prioritised by the sector, he told PTI.
High-speed internet will soon be available in 13 Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. This was previously confirmed by the Department of Telecommunication. Bharti Mittal, the CEO of Airtel, has stated that the 5G network is ready and will launch shortly once the auction is over.
“Today, optical fibres are being laid in villages on a war-footing. You know that 5G services will be launched in India. By the end of this decade, we are preparing to launch 6G services,” the prime minister said in his address on Thursday. “As all of you are aware the spectrum auction was successfully concluded. The letters for harmonization frequency allocation have been issued well in time and simultaneously we have all been working for simplifying the right of way and installation processes,” he added.
“The government is encouraging Indian solutions in gaming and entertainment. The way the government is investing, all of the youth should take advantage,” he added.
