Mohammad Rizwan to undergo an MRI for a right leg strain before India and Pakistan's Asia Cup match: Report

Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper batsman for Pakistan, is scheduled to get a preventative MRI scan on Monday after suffering a strain in his right leg during the five-wicket victory over India in the Asia Cup’s Super 4. According to Pakistani media, Rizwan was hurt while trying to catch a delivery from Mohammad Hasnain during India’s opening innings and landed awkwardly on his right leg.

According to reports, the 30-year-old hard-hitting batsman was taken to the hospital shortly after Pakistan defeated India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday by one run in the final over.

With five wickets in hand, Pakistan defeated India’s 181 for seven after Rizwan entered the field to open the innings and produced a match-winning 51 off 51 deliveries.

Rizwan and the third wicket partner shared a game-defining 73-run stand to help Pakistan avenge their defeat to India during the group league stage.

The competition’s absence of pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim, and Shahnawaz Dahani indicates Pakistan’s ongoing fitness problems.
