The youngster reportedly spent the entire night at the station as her parents waited outside.
The girl’s mother claimed that even on August 31, when they returned to the police station and begged inspector Yadav to file a report, they were ejected.
Finally, she said, authorities filed a rape case against the suspects on September 1 evening but left out the kidnapping accusation.
The girl’s age is listed in the First Information Report as 17, and the accusation of kidnapping is not mentioned.
According to CWC member Afsar Jahan, the police appeared to be attempting to protect the offender and persuade the victim to alter her testimony.
Upon discovering that her age was listed as 17 instead of 13, the Child Welfare Committee requested documentation from the police, according to Saurabh Bhatnagar, another CWC member.
Inspector Yadav and the accused were present when a CWC team went to the girl’s home, according to Bhatnagar, who also noted that under law, a rape suspect could not be brought into the victim’s presence.
Additionally, he noted that it is against the law for male police officers to record a woman rape victim’s account.
