Emmys 2022: Zendaya takes home the Best Actress Trophy for "Euphoria"

For her role in the acclaimed television series “Euphoria,” Zendaya has been awarded yet another Emmy!
The Emmy for “Lead Actress in a Drama” went to Zendaya on Tuesday for her depiction of Rue Benett in Euphoria. Zendaya has received her second Emmy. 2020 saw her win her first award for Euphoria.

This year, Zendaya has received a total of four Emmy nominations.

In addition to being nominated for “Lead Actress in a Drama Series,” she is also up for two nods for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the songs “Elliot’s Song” and “I’m Tired,” both of which were included in season two of “Euphoria,” which is up for an Outstanding Drama award.

She previously made history in 2020 for her work as Rue in “Euphoria,” becoming the youngest lead actress drama winner (she was 24 at the time) and only the second Black woman to ever win the award, after Viola Davis for “How to Get Away With Murder.”

A group of high school kids in the town of East Highland, including Zendaya’s 17-year-old heroin addict Rue, are the subject of the Israeli television series Euphoria, which is based on the same name and was produced by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin from HOT.
