On Wednesday, actress Jacqueline Fernandez showed up to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) office where she is now being questioned on her connections to con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar as part of an ongoing probe into a scam of Rs 215 crore.
The actress has previously been called twice but failed to show up both times. She entered the Delhi Police’s EOW office on Wednesday about 11:20 am from the back gate, and her questioning is anticipated to last till 5 pm. She may also be called in on Thursday, according to sources.
According to additional sources, Jacqueline Fernandez is so far complying with the inquiry and responding to all the questions posed to her by the EOW.
She’ll be questioned about her relationship with con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar and the items she received from him. The frequency of the actress’ meetings and phone calls with Chandrashekhar will also be questioned.
According to rumours, Jacqueline would also be presenting some proof to back up her claims. In order to ensure that their statements do not conflict, the authorities are questioning Pinky Irani as well as Jacqueline.
Details obtained by CNN-News18 indicate that Chandrashekhar gave the actress pricey presents, including a Porsche and a Maserati, both of which cost more than Rs 1 lakh. A Mini Cooper car worth an additional Rs 50 lakh was also given to her.
Chandrashekhar, who is currently incarcerated, has been charged with defrauding numerous people, including prominent figures like Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Fatehi previously in the investigation.
In a charge sheet submitted on August 17, the ED accused Fernandez of participating in a multimillion dollar money laundering scheme connected to Chandrashekhar.
Sukesh Chandrshekhar, a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka, is currently detained in a jail in Delhi and is charged with more than ten crimes.
