The manufacturer of iPhones stated in a statement that "the factory is now working at severely reduced capacity." It continued customers may have to wait longer to get their new items.
Last month, Reuters reported that stricter COVID regulations in China might cause the output of Apple's iPhones to decline by as much as 30% at one of the largest manufacturers in the world the following month.
With many employees abandoning the site, its flagship Zhengzhou facility in central China, which employs nearly 200,000 people, has been shaken by unrest over relentless efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Separately, Taiwan's Foxconn, the largest iPhone manufacturer for Apple Inc., announced on Monday that it was attempting to restore total production at a significant factory in Zhengzhou that had been impacted by COVID-19 limits and cut down its fourth-quarter projection.
The manufacturing effect comes when electronics manufacturers are often busy, just before the year-end Christmas shopping season, which is also a busy period for retailers of consumer products like Apple.
