Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister of education for the union, stated on Monday that state governments should continue the tradition of having the Governor serve as the Chancellor of their state institutions since it is a "well-tested structure." "From our viewpoint, everyone should be included in this arrangement since education is an issue with many different stakeholders.
Therefore, from an administrative and political standpoint, it should be free from any pressures and pulls, "He told the local reporters. It is a "wonderful" and "well-tested structure," he added, for the President of India to serve as Chancellor or Visitor for national institutions and the Governor to serve as Chancellor for respective state universities.
"Local governments should follow that as well. Unfortunately, they try to create some political difficulties, "he explained. He questioned West Bengal's decision to replace the governor as chancellor of state-run universities with the chief minister and the possibility that Telangana would do the same.
After dedicating three new buildings at the University of Hyderabad, Mr. Pradhan spoke to the media outside of an event (UoH). When asked about certain states not following the National Education Policy (NEP), he said that the Center, which has a federal structure, expects everyone to work together on putting the NEP into practice as it was developed after extensive discussions.
He questioned what any government's concern is after seeing that the NEP policy statement mentions improving students' employability. "Primary level instruction should be conducted in the native tongue. Do they disagree with the state's local language education system? They must make that decision, "he said.
"Our goal is to make our pupils ready for the worldwide market. The NEP is a 21st-century document. There might be a communication breakdown. I'm willing to talk to anyone, "he said
The creation of a new knowledge-based society in the nation, whose duty is not only for the country but from a global point of view, was something he said he anticipated would eventually win over everyone.
At the University of Houston, Mr. Pradhan officially opened the School of Physics, the Center for Digital Learning and Training Resources, and the School of Engineering Science and Technology.
Linkages between academia, policymakers, and industry may produce global models that would increase the benefits to society, he claimed in remarks made at an event following the inauguration.
