Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888–1975), the country’s first Vice President, was an Indian philosopher, politician and teacher who played an important role in shaping the intellectual and educational landscape of India. Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888. His birth anniversary is celebrated every year as Teachers’ Day, reflecting the legacy of his teaching. Bharat Ratna awardee Dr. Radhakrishnan was also the second President of India.
Jagdeep Dhankhar
The current Vice President of India is Jagdeep Dhankhar. Born on May 18, 1951, Dhankhar has also been a Supreme Court advocate and is also the former president of Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur. Dhankhar assumed the charge of Vice President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha on August 11, 2022. Before this, Jagdeep Dhankhar was the Governor of West Bengal.
