Kashmir Files, a story based on the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in the year 1990, has gained tremendous remarks from all over the nation. The movie, directed and written by Vivek Agnihotri, is based on video interviews of the then victims who have been subjected to brutal cruelty hiding in the white lands of the nation’s heaven.

The movie features many great faces. Anupam Kher, being one of them, plays the role of Pushkar Nath Pandit, whose whole family gets killed in the name of the religion. The movie first shows the murder of Pushkar Nath’s son in the hands of the terrorists. After which, the then Militant Commander tortures the daughter-in-law in an inhumane way before leaving her life intact. But later along with the movie, she, along with the grandson of Pushkar Nath, was both subjected to public death, leaving Pushkar Nath alone to fight the battle of this religious bias. The movie was made to revolve around the excruciating pain and torment the head of the family goes through while seeing his family members die one by one.

Another famous star of Bollywood, Mithun Chakraborty, can also be seen in the movie playing the role of Brahma Dutta, a diplomat, who upon seeing the plight of Kashmiri Pandit in his visit to Kashmir, went to talk to the then Chief Minister of J&K, but instead was handed over suspension in the cruel religion politics.

Atul Srivastava, Puneet Issar, Pallavi Joshi are a few other celebrities who became a part of this gut-wrenching true story of Kashmiri Pandits. Numerous clips and videos of the film are now being circulating on the internet. Millions have come forth to put their point of view out in open. Amidst all the questioning regarding the authenticity of the claims made in the movie, Kashmir Files has gained praises from top figures of India, calling the injustice and trauma suffered by the people of Kashmir during the year 1990.
