The 2022 International Emmy Award candidates were revealed by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Friday. According to Variety, some projects nominated for an International Emmy Award include Sex Education, Jodie Comer's limited series Help, and Lupin. With 60 nominations in 15 categories, 23 countries are represented. According to International Academy president and CEO Bruce Paisner, "it becomes evident that great television knows no borders and is rising throughout the world when you look at the geographic range, diversity, and quality of our Nominees."
He continued, we look forward to awarding the International Emmy to these exceptional programs and performances on our global stage.
The nominees for best actor in the performance categories are Sverrir Gudnason for A Royal Secret, Scoot McNairy for Narcos: Mexico, Dougray Scott for Irving Welsh's Crime, and Lee Sun-Kyun for Dr. Brain. The nominations for best actress are Lou de Laage for The Mad Women's Ball, Reyka's Kim Engelbrecht, Leticia Colin in Where My Heart Is, and Celine Buckens for Showtrial.
The 21st International Emmy Awards ceremony will take place in New York City.
