On Saturday, a 369-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva, which is the highest in the world, was revealed in the Rajasthani town of Nathdwara in the Rajsamand district.
With preacher Morari Bapu, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker C P Joshi, and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the "Viswas Swaroopam" statue was dedicated.
"Every context in Ram Katha conveys a message of love, harmony, and fraternity, which the nation most urgently needs to hear now. Such kathas ought to be held across the country, and they already are, "said Ashok Gehlot.
Ramdev, a yoga instructor, Gulab Chand Kataria, the opposition leader in the assembly, and other luminaries were there.
The monument was built by Tat Padam Sansthan and is roughly 45 kilometers from Udaipur.
Following the monument's dedication, several religious, spiritual, and cultural events will take place for nine days from October 29 to November 6. Murari Bapu will also recite Ram Katha.
The monument, which is fashioned in a meditative pose and is claimed to be visible from 20 kilometers distant, was built atop a hill of 51 bighas. Due to the statue's unusual lighting, it can also be seen clearly at night.
The statue's construction took ten years. The work required 3,000 tonnes of steel and iron and 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete and sand.
In August 2012, Gehlot, the project's executive director, was present as the chief minister and Morari Bapu.
