India has prepared a vaccine for cattle with lumpy skin disease, according to PM Modi

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the federal government and the states are working to combat Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle.
Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle is a problem for many states and has become a problem for the dairy industry.

In his speech at the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS) 2022, which is taking place at the India Expo Centre & Mart here, Prime Minister Modi stated that “our experts have also produced an indigenous vaccine for Lumpy Skin Disease.”

According to him, the illness has recently caused cattle losses in numerous Indian states.

The infectious viral illness LSD affects cattle and can produce nodules on the skin, fever, and even death. The illness spreads by mosquitoes, flies, lice, and wasps through contaminated food and water through direct contact among the cattle.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Parshottam Rupala, the minister of fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairying, both attended the opening ceremony.

Sanjeev Balyan, a minister of state for agriculture, animal husbandry, and dairying, was also present.
