“Lawyers Must Remember,” Chief Justice UU Lalit Recommends

According to India's Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit on Saturday, lawyers must be logical thinkers who are naturally interested in gathering facts.
CJI Lalit stated that protecting the law should be the goal of counsel while speaking at a seminar held in Patna by the Bar Council of India.

"Lawyers must remember that protecting the rule of law should be their goal and slogan. Advocates are fantastic at persuading people and supplying the public with essential information. They must possess rationality and interest in gathering information, "explained he.

Young attorneys should be motivated by the traits that distinguished freedom warriors who were lawyers possessed, he added.

"Even many of the independence fighters were lawyers. Young attorneys ought to contribute more to society, said CJI Lalit.

The executive, legislative, and judicial branches are collaborating for the country's sake, according to Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, who also addressed the audience.

Each of the three pillars needs to respect the others, he continued.

He emphasized the need to promote alternative methods like mediation and arbitration to lessen the number of cases that are still outstanding.

In an appeal to chief ministers and chief justices of high courts, Mr. Rijiju urged them to expedite the operation of the nation's 1,800 fast-track courts.
