According to Mishra, the government has taken a number of steps to strengthen its cyber security posture and prevent cyberattacks, including regularly issuing alerts and advisories regarding the most recent cyberthreats and vulnerabilities as well as countermeasures to safeguard computers and networks.
A total of 394,499, 1,158,208, 1,402,809, and 674,021 cyber security incidents were noted throughout 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 (up till June), respectively, according to Mishra’s written response to a query in the Lok Sabha.
Due to the rise in cyberattacks, it was observed back in April 2022 that insurance companies are seeing a growth in the individual, corporate, and commercial divisions of cyber security insurance coverage.According to statistics, India ranked third globally in terms of the amount of data breaches discovered in 2021, with around 8.7 crore breaches registered between January and November of the previous year.
