Action Is Taken Against 2 Telangana BJP Leaders by the KCR-Led Government

Tuesday saw harsh measures taken against two significant BJP figures in the state — party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Assembly Floor Leader T Raja Singh — for various reasons and in various locations by the Telangana administration, which is led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Raja Singh was detained by police for allegedly making disparaging statements about Islam and the Prophet Mohammad, while Sanjay Kumar was detained by police while on his “padayatra” and escorted to his home in Karimnagar.

Raja Singh was detained for his claimed comments in a video that the social media site where it was posted later removed. In response to criticism of his comments, the BJP expelled Singh from the party.

The Goshamahal MLA informed reporters before being taken into custody that the social media site had taken down his video and that he would upload “part 2” of it once he was free.

Raja Singh has stirred up controversy on numerous occasions by making derogatory statements about authorities and a certain group of people.

He had earlier this year warned that those “traitors” who did not back the Yogi Adityanath administration in Uttar Pradesh will face consequences after the polls in the northern state.

He caused controversy in December 2019 when one of the four defendants in the rape and murder of a 27-year-old veterinarian, afterwards known as “Disha,” was given racial overtones.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the state unit president of the BJP, was detained by the police in the Jangaon area during a demonstration and escorted to his home in Karimnagar.

The “padayatra” (foot march) of Kumar is currently taking place in the district of Jangaon, and he was arrested while camped out at Pamnoor.

The BJP said that Sanjay Kumar has received a notice from the Warangal police to end his foot march.

According to a BJP press release, he objected to the police action taken against several BJP workers who demonstrated on Monday in front of TRS MLC K Kavitha’s home in the state capital over claims that she was involved in the Delhi liquor scandal.
