A posh eatery in New York has come under fire for allegedly discriminating against Asian customers. According to a New York Post report, Annie, a TikToker, accused the restaurant One if by Land, Two if by Sea, claiming that it had separate seating for Asian customers on the second floor, segregating them from other diners on the first floor. Asian customers who complained about the restaurant's treatment of them on Yelp have reportedly confirmed her charges.
Let's go right to the point: One if by Land, Two if by Sea discriminates against non-White people, especially Asians, according to the TikTok user, who was reported by the Post.
This is a severe accusation against One if by Land, Two if by Sea, which Architectural Digest named one of the world's most romantic restaurants.
In regards to the charges, the eatery has not yet commented.
Asian Annie claimed in the video that when she and her boyfriend recently went to the restaurant, they were told to sit upstairs, according to the Post. She claimed to have noted that she was one of only a few Asian diners.
According to Annie, the atmosphere on the second floor is lacking compared to the first floor's mosaic-covered walls, lit by natural light.
She also displayed the second and Yelp images of the restaurant's first floor.
"I'd want to start by expressing that I have no problem dining with other Asians. I don't care. I worry about and find it problematic when white people divide people of color from white people in upscale settings. "According to the New York Post, in the TikTok video, Annie stated.
The restaurant was founded in 1973, according to its website. There have allegedly been more engagement announcements made here than at any other restaurant in Manhattan.
