Mendy and his co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, according to prosecutor Timothy Cray, were “predators, who were prepared to perpetrate significant sexual offences” as they pursued women.
Cray claimed that Mendy treated women who were “weak, afraid, and alone” with “callous disregard.”
He claimed that Matturie’s responsibility was to “identify young women and set up scenarios where those young women may be raped and sexually attacked.”
The men, according to the attorney, “made the pursuit of women for sex into a game and if ladies got harmed or frightened, well, too bad.”
According to the allegations, the offences occurred between July 2012 and August of last year.
The 40-year-old Matturie has also entered a not guilty plea to four counts of sexual assault and eight counts of rape.
Under English legislation, which also limits what can be disclosed about the case, none of the women allegedly attacked can be named.
Mendy transferred from Monaco of France to Premier League champion City in 2017. He has participated in 75 matches for Manchester City, although injuries and a decline in form cut into his playing time.
After being charged by the police in August of last year, he was suspended by City.
Mendy had 10 international appearances before his final one in November 2019. After participating in just 40 minutes in France’s triumphant 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia, the defender received a medal of victory.
