India saw a decline in the number of fresh cases of Coronavirus with 2.38 new cases reported as per the latest data updated on Tuesday morning. There is a decline of at least 20,000 cases since yesterday. The active caseload of the nation stands at 17,36,628. The recovery rate is 94.09.
The Omicron tally rose up to 8891 cases which have marked an increase of 8.31 percent since yesterday. This can also be attributed to the decrease in the number of covid testing in most of the States and the Union Territories. Keeping the decline of testing in mind, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has urged all the States and Union Territories to increase the testing of the Coronavirus. Ministry has insisted on increasing the pace of the testing to track the spread of the deadly virus so that the spread can be halted as soon as possible.
The national capital of the country continues to see a downward trend in the number of cases but that is mostly due to the reduced number of testing on Sunday as per the official reports. The Chief Minister of Karnataka has reported that the state might see a surge in infections near the end of this month.
An updated set of guidelines have been issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the care of the Covid patients. Doctors have been asked to reduce the use of steroids and to start the testing of TuberCulosis if the patient has a persistent cough. The new guidelines have stated that the increased use of steroids results in the increase of secondary infections including the black fungus which can lead to fatality.

Dr. NK Arora, the Chairman of the working group of NTAGI said via Twitter that the vaccination drive for people in the age bracket of 12-14 years of age will soon begin as the vaccination for the children of 15-18 years will be completed by then. More than 50 lakh healthcare and frontline workers have been administered the precautionary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the Union Health Minister has reported. The overall count of the doses given has crossed 158 crore which is an extraordinary achievement for the nation considering the rapid spread of the virus.
