To host "Udbhaas" from September 24 to 26, 2022, the Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur have teamed together. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Jal Sakthi, attended the occasion as the inaugural program's chief guest today at IIT Jodhpur. The Center for Sustainable Drinking Water, Dharohar - the Phygital Craft Museum and Craft Exhibition and Sale - has been opened by Mr. Shekhawat.
Union Minister of Jal Sakthi Gajendra Singh Shekhawat addressed the people of Jodhpur and stated, "I would like to start by congratulating IIT Jodhpur for developing and organizing the multisectoral program "Udbhaas- Jal Aur Jeevan."
IITs continue to contribute significantly to the nation's overall growth in various fields and spheres of endeavor. The ability to think critically, analytically, and creatively is crucial for pursuing advancement. To address societal issues like the desalination of drinking water, IIT Jodhpur has taken a cross-sectoral strategy by bringing together academics, policymakers, and governing authorities.
IIT Jodhpur and JCKIF are dedicated to working for Jodhpur's integrated, inclusive, and sustainable development. Professor Santanu Chaudhury, Director of IIT Jodhpur and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JCKIF, said in a statement highlighting the occasion. JCKIF is a significant part of IIT Jodhpur's innovation system. It seeks to serve as a catalyst for knowledge- and innovation-driven inclusive growth and sustainable growth of Jodhpur and its adjoining areas. With this, we are setting up a Centre for Sustainability of Drinking Water supported by Jal Jeevan Mission to provide innovative support to address the core problem of drinking water at Jodhpur."
