According to local media, Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has an arrest warrant out for him after making inflammatory comments about a female judge.
In the complaint filed on August 20 against the PTI Chief for threatening Additional District and Sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry, the magistrate of Islamabad's Margalla Police Station issued the warrant, according to Geo News.
According to Geo News, the FIR contains four PPC provisions, including 506 (the penalty for criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with a purpose to incite a breach of peace), 189 (threat to injure public servant), and 188 (disobedience to order validly proclaimed by public servant).
According to local media, this arrest warrant was issued just hours after Imran Khan submitted the statement that he admitted during a public gathering on August 20 in the capital he "may have exceeded a line."
According to the document cited by The Express Tribune, Imran Khan promised the court that he would never again do anything that would diminish the respect for any court or the judiciary, particularly the lower courts.
He said that he is prepared to take more steps to satisfy the court in this respect and that he would fully adhere to what he indicated before the court in the last session.
The ousted premier said that if the court feels he should, he is "willing to apologize" if the judge thinks he crossed a "red line."
According to the FIR, filed on August 20, he threatened police officers and Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry at a rally in F-9 Park to "terrorize" law enforcement authorities and the judicial system, according to Geo News.
" The primary objective was to stop the judges and police from fulfilling their lawful tasks. According to Section 7 of the ATA, the FIR was filed when Magistrate Ali Javed filed a complaint at the Margalla Police Station in Islamabad," as per the FIR.
The PTI chair had threatened to file proceedings against Islamabad's inspector general, deputy inspector general, and female magistrate at a protest at the F-9 park, alleging that they had tortured PTI leader Shahbaz Gill.
In his speech to the crowd, he declared, "We will not spare the IG and DIG." According to Geo News, the former prime minister criticized Additional District and Sessions, Judge Chaudhry, for approving Gill's two-day physical remand and advised her to prepare for the lawsuit that will also be filed against her.
