India announces donation of 5,000 tonnes of rice to Madagascar as humanitarian aid–ANI reported.

India announces donation of 5,000 tonnes of rice to Madagascar as humanitarian aid. The Indian Ambassador to Madagascar, Abhay Kumar called on Madagascar’s Prime Minister and announced the donation of 5,000 tonnes of rice. 

“The rice shipment from India to Madagascar is likely to reach the Malagasy port of Tomansina in July 2022”–ANI

Recently, on the world bicycle day, India also announced the donation of 15,000 bicycles to Madagascar on June 3, 2022.

Earlier, when drought hit Madagascar, India donated 1,000 metric tonnes of rice in March 2021. Also for the flood victims in the north of Madagascar 600 tonnes of rice were donated in March 2020.
