Actor John Cusack, who previously backed the farmers' strike and the demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act in India, has now supported Congressman Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.
On Saturday, John Cusack weighed in favor of Rahul Gandhi's "Bharat Jodo Yatra," tweeting that the Indian lawmaker was "walking to Kashmir from Kerala."
Later, when a Twitter user praised John Cusack for supporting Rahul, he replied, "Yes - solidarity - to all anti-fascists everywhere!"
The 3,500-km long "Bharat Jodo Yatra" spans 12 states and will go from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in 150 days.
The Yatra will depart from Kerala and travel through the state for the following 18 days before arriving in Karnataka on September 30.
Before traveling farther north, it will spend 21 days in Karnataka.
Every day, the Padyatra (march) will travel 25 kilometers.
This occurs just before the party's planned election for president.
On October 17, Congress will pick a new president, and the results will be announced on October 19.
Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, stated on Friday that Rahul Gandhi had made it plain that "no member of the Gandhi family" would be the next party leader when announcing his candidacy for the next Congress president election.
Shashi Tharoor, a party member who visited Sonia Gandhi on Monday, has also indicated that he plans to run for office. On Wednesday, he spoke with Madhusudan Mistry, the head of the Congress Central Election Authority.
Returning to John Cusack, he is a renowned actor who gained notoriety for his roles in the movies Serendipity, Con Air, 2012, and High Fidelity. He is famous for speaking out strongly on social media regarding international topics.
