Leader of North Korea seen riding a white horse in a propaganda video

In a new propaganda video released by North Korea, the leader of the nation was seen galloping through the forest atop a white horse. The video touts his economic leadership but ignores the recent spate of sanctions-busting seven missile launches in one month alone. The nation is also preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the birth of the late leader Kim Jong II this month.

North Korea started this year by conducting record-breaking testing of seven weapon tests in January alone. The tests included the firing of its most powerful weapons tests since the year 2017 which has raised concerns all over the world of the leader restarting the testing of long-range or perhaps nuclear testing as well.

The video that was released earlier this week highlighted the leader’s struggle to right the battered economy of the country. The government-produced documentary shows the struggles of Kim Jong Un to right the economy which has been reeling from a years-long blockade due to the COVID pandemic and due to the international sanctions that have been imposed on the nation.

The theme of the video is supposed to be Kim Jong Un’s devotion to and hard work for the people of North Korea. The video ends with the leader riding a white horse which is a symbol of the dynastic rule of Kim’s family in the nation. After the stalling of talks with the United States of America, North Korea has doubled down on the vow taken by Kim to modernise the nation’s armed forces even though the food prices have been increasing and the state of hunger is worsening in the country.

The video also makes coded references to the nation’s worst-ever hardships in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it shows footage of the leader making his way downstairs as the narrator in the background describes how Kim’s body has been completely withered away by working hard.

As per a professor at the University of North Korean Studies, this is an attempt to humanise the leader of the nation. He further added that the authorities are trying to paint Kim Jong Un as a leader who loves his people very much and as a result how he has overworked himself.

The country is also preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the birth of its late leader Kim Jong II later this month along with the 110th birthday of the founder Kim II Sung in April this year.
