A team of officials has been sent today to vacate the official residence of TMC leader Mahua Moitra. After the MP left, he was ordered to vacate this government bungalow.
Second notice was received on 16 January
Let us tell you that on January 16, DOE had issued an eviction notice to Mahua for the second time. Mahua was expelled from the Lok Sabha last month. A team has been sent to evict the TMC leader from the government bungalow allotted to him as an MP, an official told PTI.
Relief was not received from Delhi High Court
On Thursday, Moitra did not get any relief from the Delhi High Court. He had sought a stay from the court on the DoE notice, in which he was asked to vacate the government bungalow.
Justice Girish Kathpalia said that no specific rule has been brought before the court which pertains to eviction of MPs from their government accommodation after they become MLAs.
