According to news agency ANI, a guy was rescued today by neighborhood security guards after being caught on a flooded road amid nonstop rains that have swamped portions of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka.
Videos taken at the scene depict a man battling to remain afloat as his suitcase and shoes drift by him on the highway.
According to reports, the incident happened close to the Marathahalli-Silk Board intersection route in Bengaluru.
A few onlookers and men in security guard uniforms can be seen helping to drag the man up to an excavator machine parked on the road.
The man is seen being lifted and carried away in knee-deep water by four of the rescuers.
Following heavy rains overnight, many portions of Bengaluru are now underwater, and the city's significant intersections are seeing traffic congestion. The state capital of Karnataka has seen severe waterlogging twice in the last week.
According to the weather office, the state of Karnataka, particularly Bengaluru and the coastal regions, is expected to experience severe rains through September 9. A Yellow alert has been issued in the districts of Kodagu, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Chikkamagaluru.
