On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was sworn in as a member of the Uttarakhand Assembly ten days after winning the Champawat by-election. In the presence of his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, and other party leaders, Speaker Ritu Khanduri administered the oath to Dhami.

While speaking on an occasion, Dhami praised the people of Champawat for giving him such a large mandate. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing him to serve the state as a "Mukhya Sevak." Dhami further stated that his goal is to "transform Uttarakhand into a prominent state by 2025."

However, reaching this objective is not a personal trip for me. It's a journey that we're all on together. Today isn't the first time I've taken an oath. Everyone who cares about Uttarakhand's progress has taken the oath with me. As a result, it is our common obligation to move the state toward that goal, "according to the news agency PTI," he remarked.

Dhami defeated Congress's Nirmala Gahtori and the Samajwadi Party's Manoj Kumar Bhatt in the Champawat bypoll on June 3 by over 55,000 votes. Dhami earned nearly 58,000 votes, compared to 3,233 for Gahtori.

Before the bypolls, several BJP officials, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, campaigned for Dhami.

To save his job as chief minister of the hill state, Dhami needed to win the seat. He was sworn in as the state's top official in March after the governing BJP reclaimed power in the February-March election. On the other hand, Dhami lost his election to the Congress from Khatima.
