Two Pakistani terrorists, who were on a 'fidayeen' (suicide) mission in Jammu and Kashmir, were gunned down by the Indian Army in the Sunjuwan Army camp area just two days ahead of PM Narendra Modi's plans visit to the state.
The terrorists were reportedly planning to carry out a 'fidayeensukh' (suicide by cop) mission in Sunjuwan, a senior Army official said. The terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with the Army late on Thursday, the official said. The encounter took place a day after a fidayeen (suicide) attack by the Pakistan Army on Indian soldiers in Poonch.
The encounter reportedly started at around 4.15 in the morning after the police received an intelligence input about the presence of a group of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) ultras in the area that also has a vital military installation.’
Around 15 personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who was part of an ongoing cordon and search operation in Chaddha camp, came under attack from terrorists where ASI SP Patel died while 3 others were wounded. One of the terrorists lobbed a grenade at the bus the personnel was travelling in, while the other fired several bullets.
