Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and Lalu Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, will soon meet Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, according to deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav. The leaders want to unify the opposition to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“Yes, there will be a meeting once she returns. Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav would travel together to visit her. “In Patna, Mr. Yadav stated.
When asked about Nitish Kumar’s commitment to creating employment, Tejashwi Yadav said, “We will undoubtedly keep our promise to create 20 lakh jobs. Because we work for the government, this will occur.”
He reaffirmed that if the opposition parties worked together, they might defeat the BJP in the general elections in 2024.
“It is advantageous. Obviously, if we are all working together, we can beat the BJP. “When questioned about Nitish Kumar’s recent discussions with opposition leaders in Delhi, he told reporters.
During a recent trip to the capital, Nitish Kumar met with Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi.
Days before he visited Delhi, he had broken his party’s partnership with the BJP and created the Bihar government in coalition with the RJD.
As part of his efforts to forge an opposition unity, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had previously been to Bihar and met with Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav.
