At Wrestlers Protest, wrestlers made a video of a policeman viral alleging that some Delhi Police personnel reached the picket site in an inebriated condition and passed lewd remarks on women wrestlers. Vinesh Phogat was abused.
Wrestlers’ strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar continues for the 12th day even after last night’s clash. Significantly, on Wednesday night, AAP MLA Somnath Bharti reached without any permission with a bed for the wrestlers on strike, which was stopped by the police. After this there was a clash between the police and the wrestlers which lasted for a long time.
Police force deployed in large numbers at Singhu border
Last night at Jantar Mantar, wrestler Bajrang Punia appealed to wrestlers from across the country to reach Delhi. The police suspect that some farmer leaders may also come to their aid. Regarding this, a large number of policemen have been deployed at the Singhu border. Every vehicle entering Delhi is being checked. Because of this, there has been a long jam towards Haryana.
Bajrang Punia said – will return the medal to the government
Talking to reporters on Thursday morning, Bajrang Punia said that if wrestlers are treated like this then what will we do with the medal? Instead, we will live a normal life and return all the medals to the Government of India.
Delhi Police in alert mode, barricading at various places
DCPs of all the districts of Delhi have been asked to be on alert mode, especially in the border areas. Special care has been taken on all roads leading to Central Delhi and barricading has been done at various places. Police have received such inputs that a large number of people can reach Jantar Mantar.
How did the clash start?
Somnath Bharti had reached Jantar Mantar without permission to protest with a bed, so when the policemen stopped him and refused to remove the bed, his supporters and wrestlers clashed with the policemen.
