Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is a veteran artist of Indian cinema. There would hardly be anyone who would dislike him. He has given many hit films in his career. Let us know what this disease is and why it occurs, what are its symptoms.

What is Onomatomania?

According to experts, it is a mental disorder. Due to this disease, a person repeats a sentence or word again and again. Often the victim keeps looking for an opportunity to repeat the word. If the person is unable to use that word, he feels uneasy, upset and frustrated. This also causes anxiety, irritability and anger. This disease is considered a part of personality and people who read and write related to literature and art are often more likely to suffer from it. In this the person does not remain silent and keeps repeating his favorite words even while sleeping. This disease becomes an obsession for a word.

What are the symptoms of Onomatomania?

  • repeating a word over and over again
  • repeating favorite words while sleeping
  • getting upset over not repeating words

    What is its treatment?

Experts say that there is no concrete treatment for it. As long as it does not affect your routine and work, you can live with this disease, but if it is causing difficulty in work, then the doctor can treat it by giving CBT i.e. Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Apart from this, medicines for anxiety and depression are also given.
