History of World Thyroid Day

Celebrating World Thyroid Day was started by the European Thyroid Association in the year 2008. The date of 25 May also marked ETA’s Foundation Day in 1965. This is the reason why this day was chosen to spread awareness about diseases like thyroid. On this special occasion, many types of programs are organized globally. Street plays, programs and various shows are organized by the European Thyroid Association on the occasion of World Thyroid Day. Its main objective is to make people aware about thyroid. For information, let us tell you that ETA is the first organization to officially recognize World Thyroid Day. After ETA, health organizations around the world recognized World Thyroid Day on 25 May.
