A security breach at the home of National Protection Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval earlier this year led to the dismissal of three commandos from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the transfer of two senior officers to the force's VIP security unit.
Doval is protected by the Special Security Group (SSG) section of the CISF as a "Z plus" category protectee under the central VIP security list.
The disciplinary measures were implemented as a result of the court of inquiry, which the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) convened to look into the incident on February 16, finding the five policemen guilty on numerous counts and recommending sanctions against them.
According to the officials, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), who oversees this VVIP security section, and his second-in-command, a senior commandant-rank officer, have been transferred while three commandos of the Special Security Group (SSG) have been fired from their jobs.
A man from Bengaluru tried to drive his car into Doval's high-security home in central Delhi on February 16 at around 7:30 in the morning. The three commandos, who have since been fired, were there that day as part of the security detail at the NSA's home. The man was stopped outside of the house and given to the Delhi Police.
