The Election commission released the Punjab election result at 6 pm, with Aam Aadmi Party winning the 117-member assembly with a clear two-third majority and gaining the support of 88 seats. The ruling Congress won on 15 seats and is leading on three. Shiromani Akali Dal led on three seats with BSP on one, totaling four seats win. BJP has the support of two seats with the Independent winning one.
True to exit polls, AAP has swooped the Punjab election and emerged victoriously. Congress came second in the run. “The result today is a revolution in Punjab. We all love you Punjab.”: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. This revolution started in Delhi and now has entered the land of five rivers.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has won from Dhuri and declared to take the oath in Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village Khatkarkalan. He expressed his desire to work on school, health, industry, agricultural reforms, and the safety of women after his big win. Many leaders have come forth to express their words in light of AAP’s major win.
Party leader Raghav Chadha has congratulated the party and wished it to emerge as the national and natural replacement of the Congress in the coming days. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has congratulated all the parties for their big and small win. He voiced his opinion on the winning on AAP by stating the declining efficiency of Congress in the state of Punjab as the reason for people opting out of the second option, which happened to be the Aam Aadmi Party.
INC politician Navjot Singh Sidhu was found humbly accepting the result of the election by calling the voice of people to be the voice of God. It is no doubt that the people in Punjab have indeed voiced their opinion on the ruler of the state and now the big pie is in the hands of AAP but many leaders opined the win to be the result of anti-incumbency of Congress under Capt. Amarinder Singh.
Be as it may, Aam Aadmi Party has now the rule of Punjab in hand and can come forth with big changes in their coming tenure of the ruling. As said by former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav, the win of AAP in Punjab is “spectacular and extraordinary”.
