As a sign that the alliance with the BJP is finished, Nitish Kumar will meet with the governor

Today, it is expected that the future of Bihar’s NDA coalition government will be made clear as Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar meets with party leaders amid allegations of a dispute with ally BJP.

Concerns from Nitish Kumar that Amit Shah, the Union Minister, is obstinately trying to separate the Janata Dal, have reached a breaking point in the conflict between the two parties (United).

Nitish Kumar accuses RCP Singh, a former party leader, of acting as Amit Shah’s stand-in in this regard. After his party accused him of significant wrongdoing, RCP Singh left the JDU over the weekend.

RCP Singh, who represents Nitish Kumar’s party, was appointed to the union cabinet in 2017. Having only been given one cabinet position, the chief minister of Bihar was miffed.

Even as major opposition parties and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), which appears poised to split from the state’s ruling coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party, scramble to discuss the future course of action amid political upheaval, numbers in the state assembly favour Mr. Kumar, if he does break up with longtime ally BJP.

The NDA administration successfully won the state’s assembly elections in October-November 2020. In Patna, JD(U) representatives will visit Lalu Yadav’s home and the chief minister’s residence.

Additionally, the Congress has started holding meetings in Bihar to discuss its position on potential support for Nitish Kumar.

Amit Shah apparently wants to replicate the Maharashtra model in Bihar, and Nitish Kumar is reportedly convinced of this. Shiv Sena senior leader Eknath Shinde, working with the BJP, orchestrated a massive uprising, forcing Uddhav Thackeray to resign as chief minister. The BJP honoured Eknath Shinde with the position of Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
