On Sunday, the BJP claimed that Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, is the “kingpin” of the excise policy “scam,” and said that handcuffs are drawing near to him as corruption nodes are being exposed.Speaking at a press conference in this location, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia claimed that while Covid victims requested his assistance, Kejriwal was preoccupied with corruption.
The BJP spokesperson responded to Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, who claimed that Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would face off in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, by saying that everyone was aware of the results of the elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa. The general population will respond to the AAP, he said.
Adesh Gupta, the leader of the Delhi BJP, repeated Bhatia’s remarks and referred to Kejriwal as the scheme’s mastermind.
According to the CBI’s FIR in the matter, Manish Sisodia and other accused public officials made judgments regarding the excise policy 2021–22 without getting the go-ahead from the appropriate party with “an purpose to offer undue favours to the licensees post tender.” In connection with the inconsistencies in the Delhi government’s Excise Policy 2021–22, the Central Bureau of Investigation conducted 31 searches on Friday, including Manish Sisodia’s home.
According to the FIR, Sameer Mahendru, the proprietor of Indospirit, one of the liquor retailers involved in anomalies in the formulation and application of the excise policy, is accused of making at least two payments totaling crores to “close allies” of Sisodia.
