A BJP representative launched a harsh attack on the leader of the Aam Admi Party just hours after Arvind Kejriwal requested that his deputy Manish Sisodia receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, for his contributions to the city of Delhi’s educational system. In the midst of a more intense CBI investigation into the Delhi liquor policy scandal, the leaders of the two parties have been verbally attacking one another.
Days after CBI agents searched Sisodia’s home as part of a nationwide hunt for evidence in the case, the Delhi deputy chief minister made a significant assertion on Monday about the BJP attempting to contact him about changing allegiances. Manish Sisodia claimed that the rival party asked him to split the AAP in exchange for the position of chief minister and the dismissal of all cases. The BJP quickly refuted this claim.
Later that day, Sisodia travelled to Gujarat with the Delhi chief minister and declared that he had not entered politics to seek office. Hours later, in response to the Delhi CM’s remark, BJP leader BL Santosh brought up the Nobel Prize. Satyendra Jain will receive the Padma Vibhushan, Manish Sisodia will receive the Bharath Ratna, and he will receive the next Noble Prize. The national general secretary of the party tweeted, “Great going anarchist party @AamAadmiParty.”
As the political debate over the most recent political stalemate between the two political parties intensifies, the BJP has been responding quickly to the AAP’s accusations.
On Monday, while Kejriwal asserted that “Operation Lotus failed in Delhi,” the opposition’s moniker for the alleged attempt to overthrow elected governments, the BJP categorically denied the allegations.
