The debut of Coca-NFT Cola's series, which is devoted to the LGBTQ population worldwide, has been announced. In partnership with Rich Mnisi, a fashion designer and supporter of LGBTQ+ rights headquartered in South Africa, the Pride-themed collection of digital collectibles is being created. The 136 pieces in the NFT series are meant to spread the notion that "love" is an energy that cannot be destroyed but can be transported and transformed.
The Polygon blockchain is supporting this endeavour. Each NFT in the Cola-Cola Pride series will feature the iconic beverage's glass bottle while reflecting rainbow-like hues all around it.
On social media, glimpses of the NFTs have surfaced.
The series' digital collectibles will be offered for sale using the cryptocurrency Polygon (MATIC). According to Gadgets 360's cryptocurrency price tracker, each Polygon coin is currently trading at $0.50 (approximately Rs. 38.70).
These Pride-themed NFTs' capital proceeds will be given to OUT, an LGBTQ+ organisation chosen by Mnisi.
Coca-Cola introduced a four-piece NFT collection to commemorate International Friendship Day last year. Coca-Cola had stated that the auction of those items brought in about $575,000 (around Rs. 4.5 crore).
Pepsi, a significant competitor of Coca-Cola, also introduced an NFT series in 2021 that featured 1,893 pieces of a microphone aesthetic that was influenced by Pepsi flavours including the Classic Blue Pepsi, Silver Diet Pepsi, and Red Pepsi Wild Cherry, among others.
According to predictions, NFT sales would surpass $25 billion (or nearly Rs. 1,84,700 crore) in 2021.
