The Maharashtra government has mandated an investigation into the fatal road accident that claimed the life of renowned industrialist Cyrus P. Mistry, a former chairman of Tata Sons and leader of the global Shapoorji Pallonji Group, this evening. The incident happened in Maharashtra's Palghar.
Mistry, who aged 54, is survived by his wife Rohiqa, his older brother Shapoor, and other relatives. Only two months have elapsed since the loss of Mistry's father, Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, the Group's Chairman Emeritus, who passed away on June 28 in Mumbai at the age of 93.
According to a senior Mumbai police officer, Mistry's automobile collided with a divider on a Surya river bridge.
According to authorities in the Palghar district, Mistry was travelling to Mumbai from Gujarat with three other people. Famous Mumbai gynaecologist Dr. Anahita Pandole, her husband Darius Pandole, and his brother Jehangir Pandole were the other three passengers in the vehicle. In Gujarat's Vapi, a hospital is providing care for Dr. Anahita Pandole and Darius Pandole, who are said to be in no danger.
Although the authorities have not yet confirmed it, it is thought that Dr. Pandole was driving at the time of the collision.
According to preliminary evidence, the car's driver may have lost control, according to news agency ANI. According to reports, a government hospital in Kasa is home to Mistry's mortal remains.
According to protocol, the police are filing an accidental death report, according to Palghar Police sources.
After hearing of Mistry's passing, a number of well-known politicians and businessmen tweeted their condolences. According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “untimely demise of Shri Cyrus Mistry is shocking. He was a promising business leader who believed in India’s economic prowess. His passing away is a big loss to the world of commerce and industry.”
