The construction work of Phase IV of Delhi Metro is going on at a fast pace. The latest information is that the work of the four kilometer long elevated viaduct from Majlis Park to Mukarba Chowk on the under-construction Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Metro corridor has been completed.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) says that the process of handing over the responsibility of installing Metro train tracks and Over Head Equipment (OHE) on this newly constructed elevated viaduct to the contractors is going on. Therefore, soon this work will also start.
The Janakpuri-RK Ashram corridor will be 28.92 km long. It is an extension project of the existing Magenta Line (Botanical Garden-Janakpuri West). Its 19.52 km portion will be elevated and 9.40 km underground.
Now by March 2026, this corridor will be ready. DMRC says that last year, 2.2 km between Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension on this corridor. The construction of underground tunnels was completed.
The work of elevated corridor between Haiderpur Badli Mode to Keshopur is also going on at a fast pace. On June 2, the work of digging a three kilometer long tunnel between Derawal Nagar to Pulbangash started on this corridor. In this corridor, there will be 15 elevated and seven underground metro stations on the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor.
