Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai called an emergency meeting over the alleged violation of norms set by the Supreme Court to curb the air pollution crisis in the city.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai called an emergency meeting over the alleged violation of Supreme Court’s pollution norms. This minister’s decision to hold the key meet comes a day after India Today released an investigation report that captured videos and images of open violation of norms set by the Supreme Court to curb the crisis.
The Supreme Court had directed the Delhi government to set certain norms in a bid to curb air pollution in the national capital. Following this, the Delhi government had announced a ban on construction and the entry of trucks, barring CNG, e-trucks and those engaged in essential services till further orders.
However, India Today TV found that these norms were violated openly. In the dead of night, while digging work and metro construction were stealthily going on, diesel trucks were also allowed to enter Delhi.
